Not every project justifies a custom theme. SprintArt needed to be live quickly and edited daily by a non-technical team, so a page builder was the right call — with the usual caveat that builders ship a lot of CSS and JS you never use. So the build was half assembly, half optimisation: a trimmed global stylesheet, disabled unused builder modules, self-hosted fonts, and an image pipeline that doesn't serve a 2400px hero to a phone.
The challenge
Page-builder convenience without the page-builder performance tax.
What I built
Reusable builder templates for the team, aggressive asset pruning, self-hosted fonts, conditional module loading, and full-page caching with a warmed cache.
Results
- Marketing team ships new pages without a developer
- Builder overhead trimmed to keep Core Web Vitals in the green
- Launch delivered on a compressed timeline
