HomeSmiles sells a bundled home-maintenance service through franchise operators, so every visitor needs to land on the right territory's pricing and booking form. The old build handled that with duplicated pages and a plugin stack that had grown past forty entries. I rebuilt it as a custom theme with a single location post type driving service pages, pricing tables, and franchisee routing. Content editors now add a territory once and the whole site reflects it.
The challenge
Dozens of near-duplicate location pages, each hand-maintained, with lead routing handled by an editor remembering which email address to paste into the form.
What I built
A location custom post type with ACF-driven pricing and service availability, template routing that assembles each territory page from a single record, and form logic that resolves the correct franchisee automatically from the submitted ZIP code.
Results
- Location pages reduced from hand-maintained duplicates to one record each
- Plugin count cut substantially, and page weight with it
- Leads route to the correct franchisee without manual routing
